Dr. Andrew A. Bremer
Dr. Andrew Bremer obtained his B.S. degree in Molecular
Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University in 1994, and received his
M.D. degree cum laude and Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology from the Boston
University School of Medicine in 2001. During medical school, he was
elected into Alpha Omega Alpha, served as a lecturer in the Medical
Pharmacology course, and received a student achievement award. He
completed his residency in the Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics
Residency Program at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
During his residency, Dr. Bremer served as a Chief Internal
Medicine-Pediatrics Resident and Chief Neonatology Resident.
In July 2005, Dr. Bremer began a fellowship in pediatric
endocrinology at the University of California at San Francisco where he
plans to pursue both his clinical interests in the management of diabetes
and the metabolic syndrome, as well as his scientific interests in insulin
signaling and insulin resistance. His career goal is to be an accomplished
physician-scientist in the field of endocrinology at a major academic
medical center.
Dr. Bremer is married to Dr. Daphne Carlson-Bremer, a
veterinarian who will pursue her clinical and scientific interests in
wildlife and conservation medicine in California. Together, they enjoy
ballroom dancing, athletics, and outdoor activities.
